Choose and Collect

A 'Choose and Collect' service has started at most libraries, with an additional book delivery services at some libraries also.

In addition four pilot libraries will have limited opening times and a reduced service. These four pilot libraries are: Braunton, Chudleigh and Honition in Devon and Brixham in Torbay.

 ARC

Arc’s online Creative Programme - #KeepingUsTogether has a range of activities to support wellbeing during this period.

CALLING ALL BOOK READERS - LENDERS AND BORROWERS!

 Whilst the libraries are closed, Sally Livsey is kindly willing to coordinate a Bradninch Book Sharing Service.

Sally will talk on the phone to any readers who cannot leave their homes and will then arrange delivery of suitable books with the volunteer teams. Please contact Sally if you have books you are willing to lend or would like to receive books during this period of library closure. More details will follow about this fantastic service in the following days.

FOR THE LOVE OF SCRUBS
Katy Mackenzie is currently sewing Scrubs

 for the NHS, to help out with the current health crisis.

GREAT BRITISH HOME CHORUS

If you want to sing with other people around the country then you can join the ‘The Great British Home Chorus’, Malone hopes to keep people’s spirits high if they’re feeling lonely during self-isolation and help them stay connected through the power of music.

 

THE NATIONAL THEATRE AT HOME is streaming live performances every Thursday at 7 pm during the current crisis. Each performance will be available for 7 days.

 

DEVELOPING YOUR ILLUSTRATION SKILLS

Corin Astles is a local Animator, Graphic Designer and Illustrator. He has kindly created a series of simple guides to illustration for those of you who now find you have the time to develop these skills. This series could help you to illustrate a story or poem for the first Bradninch Together Project.

DANCING ON YOUR DOORSTEP
Weekly dances on your doorstep. All you need to do is to play music and dance - at a distance! The three songs chosen by Aidan Potter change each week.

A reminder that dancing from your doorstep must be 2 m away from people who are not in your household

Bradninch Together Creative Projects   

Welcome to 'Bradninch Together Creative projects'. Every Wednesday we will be putting up a new activity for you to have a go at on our Creative projects facebook site.

 

These mini activities are welcome to all ages, experience and abilities!

 

You can contribute your work by commenting on this post with a photograph, video or writing showing us what you have made.

We will update the gallery to the left here with the projects as they go live. Choose one and have a go.

  1. The completion will run from 20 July 2020 to midnight 21 August 2020.

  2. All entries must be submitted within this time.

  3. Physical entries (e.g. paper, ceramics, or fabric) can be dropped off at Bradninch Together, 3 Jubilee Road, off Hele Road, Bradninch EX5 4PF

  4. Entries must provide a contact name and number to be valid; either by a Facebook submission or written clearly on or attached to any physical entry.

  5. The entries will be judge by Corin Astles and Eleanor Lang, local artists.

  6. Judging will consider originality, impact and use of materials.

  7. Winning entries will be those who are considered to have met the criteria of each category, as described on the advertising poster.

  8. The winning ‘characters’ may be used by Bradninch Together in future initiatives. 

  9. By entering the competition, you will retain copyright of your created work but grant permission for Bradninch Together use for non-profit puposes.

  10. All entries will be appear on a virtual gallery at the end of the competition.

  11. The judges’ decision is final.

  12. Winners will be notified by 27 August  2020
